Somehow inspired by the logo redesigns of global brands during this year and amused by the logos remade with new Microsoft design style, we recreated our own logo.
Our aim was to add cleaner lines, more class, higher readability and simplicity to our “Hidden ears” logo without changing the core concept. It was also important to make the logo suitable for the website design. The new logo already replaced the old version on our official web page, all our advertising materials and blanks, as well as on The Rabbiter’s profiles on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The logotype is developed with a modification of the font JasmineUPC in a dark grey colour, while the symbol’s background is in our favourite colour #8dc919 without the rounded corners and the gradient of the previous logos, and including the traditional hidden element in white. The element suggests several ideas: 1. It represents the letter R, the first letter of the word rabbiter. 2. It represents the ears of a rabbit. 3. It represents a cartoon trace of jumping. 4. It represents a tick evoking the idea of an approved name. Which idea did you see first?

How Freelancing Has Changed How I Live And Work by The Rabbiter From the idea that lit the fire of my freelance business, through the excitement of my first awarded job, to keeping a 4.8 star profile at Elance.com for the last 12 months – this is a 3 and a half years old story, yet it already changed my life. And these are the 5 main changes: My daughter calls me daddy I used to work as Brand Manager for a multinational health care company. I have worked for 50 hours per week. Now, I am working for… 50 hours per week. There is one but, of course. Today, I can set my schedule the way I want. Before becoming a solopreneur, I was like an uncle to my daughter as I was always working late. Now, she calls me daddy. I choose the bullets on my website Do you remember thinking how many things you would have done differently if you were in your boss’ shoes? Congratulations, it’s Independence Day! Now, I can set my own rules and make my own mistakes to learn from. This is my business – my style. I can finally design my work the way I see it. Now I know exactly where the British Virgin Islands are From the American “thanks, man” to the Australian “cheers, mate” – I had the unique opportunity to work with clients from every continent on the planet. Such experience gives you variety, confidence and the sublime feeling that you speak to the whole world. I stopped working Confucius once said “choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. Clearly, Confucius was talking about freelancing. As soon as I became a freelancer I started perceiving work differently. This is not something you do for money, this is now something you do for yourself and for… even more money. I will probably live longer No more picking the right tie, no more traffic jams, no more end of the year meetings, no more “Get in my office! Now!”. Freelancing gives you the exclusive opportunity to do your job by lying on your living-room’s sofa with no socks on. And if stress shortens life, then being a freelancer means I will most probably see my great-grandchildren growing up… and becoming freelancers. Now, I realize that it all started from a funny idea, like a joke, really. This joke is now my biggest pride, my inspiration. Freelancing can be your dream come true if you find your vocation. The best freelancing website Elance called for inspiring stories. However, freelancers don’t really need inspiration because freelancing starts with one. Happy International Freelancers Day! We are celebrating our 3rd anniversary with a new friend! Meet Hopsy – our new company character. Hopsy is frisky rabbit who comes from a place called Dreamstime and he is here to bring us a lot of luck and success.
You can always find him on our home page but you have to be quick as he could jump away from you. If you catch Hopsy and click on him you will learn more about our philosophy and why rabbits are part of our brand identity. Welcome home, Hopsy! ![]() March 29, 2009 – the day the Rabbiter was founded. For the short period of 2 years, we are proud to have accomplished a lot. This is our time to brag, so we would like to share the key moments in our history with you: - We worked with clients from every populated continent on the planet: this international experience and our high client repeat ratio gave us the confidence every start-up company needs. - We created a lot of names: that actually inspired us to introduce the Name of the Month competition. - We had our first major media coverage: Financial Times Deutschland wrote an article about us, titled “The namer”. - We became a factor in the naming business: the leaders in this business, A Hundred Monkeys, included The Rabbiter in their list of competitors. - We started our first advertising campaign last week: the communication plan includes internet banner advertising and a viral campaign through social media (see the ad above). Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of the ones that had trust in our work. Thank you all. We jumped for joy when we saw that one of the best and most expensive naming companies in the world, A Hundred Monkeys, included us in their page of competitors! They have a special section dedicated to the best naming companies. The idea is to show that A Hundred Monkeys are not afraid to reveal the alternatives in this business and to show their potential clients how important the name is, especially when it comes to the name of a naming company.
The launch of the Rabbiter Actually A Hundred Monkeys inspired us to start our company in the first place. In the end of 2008, we learnt that there is a naming company that charges $75,000 per name and that was intriguing, to say the least. Back then, we already had a good portfolio of names that we were really proud of. We thought “We can start doing this for start-up companies for as much as $500!” In March, 2009, the Rabbiter started catching brand names that jump and now, just 2 years later, we are in the list of the best naming companies, ranked by the very company that ignited our passion. Naming a naming company We have read on the website of A Hundred Monkeys that the idea behind their name is that if you put 100 monkeys on typewriters, at least one monkey will come up with a good name. That was a very brave name and a very brave explanation. Well, they gave up on the explanation and we understand why. When we were creating our name, we wanted to emphasize on the idea that we will create brand names that make businesses jump. So these businesses need names that can jump and we are the ones to provide them with such. We called ourselves the Rabbiter – an enigmatic name, easy to remember… and a hundred times shorter than many others… ![]() The Rabbiter now accepts bank transfer payments through MoneyBookers. There is no need to have a credit card – clients can transfer funds directly from their account with a few clicks. Meanwhile the Rabbiter made changes to the Prepayment package and the Pitch package which now include 20 name proposals, logo and slogan suggestions. The prices are respectively $399 and $599. ![]() The Rabbiter proudly presents its new logo "Hidden ears" as part of the company’s identity. "The logo incorporates who we are as a company – it is serious, yet fresh; simple, yet enigmatic. The graphical element in the logo contains a small "r" letter and, if you look closer, you will see the ears of a rabbit - the symbol of our naming services. The new layout is in accordance with our brand idea and mission – catching brands names that will make your business jump”, the company stated. “We are totally aware that, when it comes to a branding company, the logo is the first opportunity to make a good impression. We hope that our clients will like it.” ![]() Due to an increased interest in the services provided by the Rabbiter, the company has set new prices for the Prepayment package and the Pitch Package, respectively $199 and $299. All other conditions remain the same. This prices increase does not affect our loyal and current existing client's service. The new conditions are effective immediately. ![]() The biggest and most famous freelancer website Getafreelancer.com is changing its name to Freelancer.com. The website is organizing a competition for logo design that the Rabbiter joined with the logo "Dove Hands". The "Dove Hands" logo aims at suggesting the added value to the business relationships that Getafreelancer.com offers. While handshaking is the symbol of business agreements and flawless relations, the dove symbol made with two hands in the logo implies to the freedom of the bond between employers and providers - no need to appoint meetings, no need to sign long contracts and prepare for presentations in the office, etc. "Dove Hands" logo shows that freelancing combines two things: business and freedom. The logo is stylish, the text font is corporate, the colors are rather dark, yet vivid, the brand name is easy to read. There is a color relation between the text and the illustration. The illustration is on the top of the letters "free" in order to put an accent on this part of the brand name. The illustration can be used for different purposes on the website, including for bullets and favicons. Getafreelancer.com will announce the top finalists on Monday the 23rd of November, 2009. The top finalists will be chosen based on a variety of factors including originality, creativity, ingenuity, and the artists efforts to promote their design. Following this, the final top 10 will be announced on Wednesday the 26th November. |
